Chandrababu neglected irrigation projects in TDP tenure: Ambati

Nandyal, September 13: Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu criticised TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting irrigation projects during his tenure. “YSRCP government will complete and dedicate the Polavaram Project to the nation,” he assured.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Ambati said Pothireddypadu Head Regulator is a gift to Rayalaseema region. Terming YSRCP government as pro-farmer, he stated that they have taken up repairs of all irrigation project gates.

The minister mentioned that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s aim is to complete all pending projects. “When Chandrababu was CM, farmers faced difficulties due to drought,” he stated and added that there is no need for farmers to wait for rains in Jagan’s rule.

Ambati further said that his government has been working for the welfare of farmers. He pointed out that cultivation area has increased in the state after YSRCP came to power three years ago.
