Able & stable opposition needed at Centre, states: Venkaiah

Visakhapatnam, September 8: Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu stressed on the need for an able and stable Opposition both at Centre and states. Speaking at ‘Atmiya Samavesam’ organised by his friends here, he said Narendra Modi, a powerful Prime Minister, is ruling the country. “I will not rejoin the BJP but I will talk about politics,” he clarified.
 
Mizoram Governor Kambhampati Haribabu praised the role played by Venkaiah after bifurcation of combined Andhra Pradesh. “Naidu was instrumental in getting Central educational institutions to AP such as IIM, IIPE, Tribal University in Vizianagaram, AIIMS, NIT in Tadepalligudem, IIT and IISER in Tirupati.
 
Former minister and BJP leader Kamineni Srinivas recalled that any work related to state used to be done within hours by Centre with the intervention of Venkaiah. On the occasion, he read out a poem penned by Naidu’s friends. YSRCP MLA Avanthi Srinivas, former Union Minister Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju and other prominent personalities attended the event.
