KTR lambasts Modi govt for non-allocation of Bulk Drug Park to Telangana

Hyderabad, September 2: Minister for IT and Industries K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday came down heavily on Central government for not allocating Bulk Drug Park to Telangana. “Centre pawned interests of the country with discrimination towards Telangana,” he alleged.

KTR mentioned that Pharma City with international standards in Hyderabad is favourable for setting up Bulk Drug Park. He faulted the Modi government for ignoring the Pharma City ready with land acquired as per master plan and obtained environmental permits.

The minister criticised the Centre for sanctioning Bulk Drug Parks to states which require four years for creating basic infrastructure. “Ignoring Pharma City for establishing a Bulk Drug Park shows Modi government’s lack of commitment in making India’s pharma sector self-sufficient,” he slammed.

KTR demanded that the BJP-led NDA government should allocate Bulk Drug Park to Telangana immediately. The Department of Pharmaceuticals gave approval for proposals forwarded by Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh to set up Bulk Drug Parks.
