Rename Jangaon district after Sardar Papanna Goud: BJP MP Laxman

Hyderabad, August 19: BJP Rajya Sabha member Dr. K. Laxman on Thursday demanded that the Telangana government should rename Jangaon district after revolutionary leader Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud while participating in latter’s 372nd birth anniversary celebrations here.

Laxman released a book ‘Maro Chatrapathi-Mana Telugu Dalapathi’ on Sarvai Papanna written by Nandanam Krupakar along with BJP national executive committee member Vijayashanti. He also wanted the state government to instal his statue on the Tank Bund.

Speaking on the occasion, the BJP MP gave a call to people to revolt against the TRS government by taking inspiration from Sarvai Papanna. He exuded confidence of the BJP victory in Munugode by-election. “People will teach a lesson to corrupt KCR government in by-poll,” he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Vijayashanti expressed dissatisfaction for not allowing her to speak in birth anniversary celebrations of Papanna Goud. “Why Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay and Laxman are not utilising my services,” she asked while speaking to the media.
