My words on garbage tax distorted by a section of media: Kodali Nani

Gudivada, July 27: Former minister and YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani on Wednesday came down heavily on a section of the media for distorting his words on garbage tax. Talking to reporters, he said that a woman informed him regarding her inability to pay garbage tax during the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam, a mass contact programme, at Nehru Chowk here.

“Responding, I told her that I and former minister Perni Nani would take up the issue with Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he recalled and added that 20% people have difficulty in paying garbage tax.

The YSRCP MLA faulted a few Telugu TV news channels and newspapers loyal to TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu for reporting that he had assured the woman of scrapping garbage tax completely after impressing the CM. He mentioned that Chandrababu cannot defeat the YSRCP in next Assembly elections with the support of some newspapers and news channels.
