KCR, Puvvada misleading people on Godavari floods, alleges Revanth

Delhi, July 19: TPCC chief Revanth Reddy hit out at ruling TRS government for misleading people with confusing statements on Godavari floods. Talking to reporters here on Tuesday after admitting former Husnabad MLA A. Praveen Reddy in Congress, the Telangana Congress president slammed Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for making irresponsible statement of foreign hand behind cloudburst resulting heavy floods in Godavari river.

“Now, Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar saying height of Polavaram Project responsible for submergence of temple town Bhadrachalam,” he mentioned. He asked KCR as to why he did not raise objection if height of Polavaram is increased. “TRS government wants to divert the attention of people by blaming cloudburst and Polavaram,” he criticised.

Revanth demanded that the Telangana government should pay Rs 1 crore compensation for kin of those who died in floods and should impress on Centre to release Rs 2,000 crore towards flood relief activities. Former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir was also present.
