I don’t want to comment on cloudburst: Governor Tamilisai

Hyderabad, July 18: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan organised Mahila Darbar at Raj Bhavan here on Monday and received petitions from women.

Speaking to the media, the Governor said that she is not conducting Mahila Darbar to show her supremacy. “It is a platform to resolve issues faced by women,” she mentioned. National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma also participated in Mahila Darbar.

Tamilisai stated that she referred some medical cases to various hospitals for treatment. “NCW chairperson will help those women, who were deserted by their husbands,” she said and added that some issues which needed intervention of the Telangana government were referred to concerned departments.

When asked Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had suspected foreign hand behind cloudburst resulting Godavari floods, reporters laughed when Governor said she doesn’t want to comment.
