Meteorological Dept forecasts heavy rainfall in Telangana, issues red alert

Hyderabad: Heavy rains lashing all over Telangana. Due to rains, rivers are overflowing in many districts. In this context, the government has become alert. Chief Minister KCR directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to immediately take protective measures in the wake of rains. It has been clarified that the officials in the flooded areas, NDRF and rescue teams have been alerted.

On the occasion, KCR advised the ministers, MPs, MLAs and public representatives of all the districts to stand by the local people and be vigilant. He called upon people to help in relief operations and ensure that there is no damage. 

The authorities of the Water and Drainage Department have been ordered to review the situation from time to time and take appropriate measures. On the other hand, the revenue conferences scheduled to be held from July 15 have been postponed in the wake of heavy rains.

Meanwhile, officials of the Meteorological Department have warned that there is a possibility of heavy rains in many districts of Telangana. It has been clarified that many districts are put on red alert. It has been revealed that there is a possibility of rain for another two to three days. Officials advised people to come out only if necessary.
