Anantapur: Govt staffer ends life, suicide note reveals blackmail for Rs 50 lakh is reason

Anantapur, July 6: Ramu, working as an Assistant Director in the Animal Husbandry Department, committed suicide by hanging to a ceiling fan at office guest house in the early hours of Tuesday. On receiving information, the police reached the spot and found a suicide note in his shirt pocket.
 
According to cops, Ramu did online business with some people while he was working at Puttaparthi. Due to losses, business partners were blackmailing him to return Rs 50 lakh. In the note, he mentioned the names of those who have blackmailed him.
 
The deceased’s wife Rani working as a senior faculty at Pulla Reddy Government Polytechnic College in Kurnool arrived and lodged a complaint against 10 persons in concerned police station. 
 
The cops registered a case and took up investigation. The body of Ramu was shifted to Government General Hospital here for post-mortem. His colleagues said that Ramu was a gentleman and never shared that he was being blackmailed by some persons.
