Randeep Hooda performs last rites of Sarabjit Singh's sister Dalbir Kaur

Amritsar (Punjab): Randeep Hooda is one of the leading actors in Bollywood. Recently, he took part in the last rites of Sarabjit Singh's sister Dalbir Kaur at her native village in Bhikhiwind near Amritsar. It may be recalled that Sarabjit Singh was sentenced to death by the Pakistan Supreme Court on terrorism and espionage charges.

Randeep Hooda played the role of Sarabjit Singh in his biopic 'Sarabjit', which was released in 2016. During the shooting of the film, Sarabjit Singh's sister Dalbir Kaur had developed a good bonding with Randeep Hooda.

She told Randeep that she was looking for her brother Sarabjit Singh in him. It was during that time Dalbir Kaur had made a wish to Randeep Hooda, and requested him to give her 'kandha' (offer his shoulder before taking the body to the cremation) when she dies. Randeep conducted the cremation of Dalbir Kaur as a brother and kept his promise to her.

Recalling her last words, he posted a tearful tribute to her on Instagram, “She called me up and told me to meet her quickly. But, by the time I went she was gone. I never thought Dalbir Kaurji would leave us so soon. She fought hard to save her beloved brother Sarabjit Singh. I am so lucky that her love and blessings are upon me. I will never forget in life the Rakhi she tied to me. Dalbir Kaur died of a heart attack on June 26 at Bhikhivind near Amritsar in Punjab.
