Tension at funeral procession of Rakesh, BSNL office attacked

Warangal, June 18: A few protesters participating in the funeral procession of Rakesh, who succumbed to bullet injuries in police firing at Secunderabad railway station, pelted stones towards the BSNL office here. Even, they tried to set the office on fire. But the police personnel prevented their attempt and chased them away.
 
The incident took place when the rally was heading to Dabeerpet, native place of Rakesh, from Warangal. As per the instructions of police officials, the funeral procession route was changed so that they do not come across Central offices. Earlier, agitators burn the effigy of the Central government.
 
According to reports, no one present in the BSNL office at the time of attack as majority staff were shifted to Hanamkonda. Bandh is being observed in Narsampet protesting the death of Rakesh in police firing. Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod, TRS MLAs and leaders have participated in the rally.
