Former TRS MLA Nallala Odelu, his wife ZP chief meet Rahul Gandhi, join Congress

Hyderabad, May 19: Former TRS MLA Nallala Odelu and his wife Mancherial Zilla Parishad (ZP) chairperson Nallala Bhagyalaxmi met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday and both joined the Congress in his presence. TPCC president Revanth Reddy and former Congress minister Damodar Raja Narasimha have accompanied them to Rahul.

Odelu won as MLA in 2009 and 2014 on TRS symbol. He served as Government Whip after he became MLA in 2014. In 2010, he tendered resignation to MLA post and won again in by-election. Differences with the TRS leaders especially with MLA Balka Suman in Chennur Assembly constituency made him to quit the TRS. Moreover, Odelu was unhappy with the TRS leadership for not giving MLA ticket in previous elections.

Prior to taking decision to join Congress, he held series of meetings with his family members and followers for the last few days. Odelu quitting TRS has become a hot topic in combined Adilabad district.
