Minister KTR inaugurates Procter & Gamble factory at Kothur

Hyderabad, May 2: Minister for IT, Industries and Municipal Adminstration K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Monday inaugurated first liquid detergent manufacturing unit of Procter & Gamble (P&G) set up at Kothur in Rangareddy district with an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore.
 
Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that the state government had allotted 170 acres to P&G. “The company can provide thousands of jobs to local youth by utilising the entire land given to them,” he mentioned and added that only 35 per cent of land utilised by P&G so far. He stated that liquid detergent manufacturing unit in Telangana is P&G’s largest consumer care factory. “As told by P&G representatives, the demand in the future is for liquid detergents,” he said.
 
The minister appreciated P&G for providing Rs 6 crore support including 2 lakh masks and 20,000 sanitizers for the state of Telangana during pandemic. Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, MP Srinivasa Reddy, MLA Anjaiah Yadav, Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce) Jayesh Ranjan, and others were present.
