Hyd: Osmania University denies permission for Rahul Gandhi’s interaction meet

Hyderabad, April 30: The Osmania University on Saturday denied permission for an interaction between students and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on campus. As part of two-day tour in Telangana, Rahul will address a public meeting 'Rythu Sangharshana Sabha' in Warangal on May 6. Prior to that, he will participate in a farmers’ rally.

The Telangana Congress leaders had planned Rahul’s interaction with students in Osmania University on May 7. They submitted a letter to OU Vice-Chancellor seeking permission for the interaction meet.

With the denial of permission, the Congress leaders are annoyed and expressing anger over varsity authorities. They said that meetings and rallies organised in the OU were responsible for intensifying agitation for separate Telangana state. “It is not right for the OU authorities to deny nod for the meeting by imposing a rule of not allowing cameras inside the campus,” they mentioned. It is learnt that some students have approached the High Court to get approval for Rahul’s meeting in OU.
