Heroin worth Rs 21.0 cr seized in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, April 26: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) burst international drug racket. The officials have arrested a woman, native of Malawi country, and seized 3.129 kg heroin worth Rs 21.9 crore at Samshabad airport on Monday. The woman came from Nairobi of Kenya.

The DRI officials said that the woman is a carrier and they are investigating to identify the receivers.

According to sources, international drug mafia had called the Malawi woman to Nairboi on business visa a few days ago. They conducted reccee by sending her to Hyderabad and back after three days. Confirming that everything is as per the plan, the mafia leaders kept 3.129 kg heroin in two polythene bags and hidden them in a secret closet on the bottom of a trolley bag. They used black color polythene covers so that they cant be traced during scanning.

The woman travelled from Nairobi to Doha and from there reached Hyderabad on Monday. DRI officials suspected as the woman came from Nairobi on business visa and also her two time visit earlier. They took her into custody and checked her bags and found out heroin in large quantities. The woman was produced in the court and sent for judicial remand.
