Congress, BJP take credit after CM KCR announces to procure Yasangi paddy

The opposition parties, Congress and BJP, have individually claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had made an announcement on procurement of paddy produced by farmers in Yasangi, bowing to pressure exerted by them.

TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy has mentioned that he will not believe the CM’s statement. “The Congress will continuously monitor till entire paddy stock is procured from farmers by state government,” he said. Revanth has mentioned that KCR agreed to purchase paddy after knowing that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will soon address a public meeting in Telangana.

Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay has said that the CM announced to procure paddy because of party’s deeksha. He demanded the TRS government to come to the rescue of those farmers, who suffered losses by selling their produce for lesser price than the support price offered by the Centre.

CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has appreciated the decision of the KCR government for agreeing to purchase paddy even though the Centre outrightly denied to procure from farmers.
