3 devotees injured in stampede for Sarva Darshan tickets at Tirupati

Three devotees suffered injuries in a stampede for Sarva Darshan tickets in Tirupati on Tuesday morning. The injured shifted to Ruia Government General Hospital for medical treatment. After a gap of two days, counters at Srinivasam and Bhudevi complexes and Govindaraja choultry were opened for issuing free darshan tokens. 
 
Thousands of devotees, who were waiting for the tickets, and devotees arrived today from various places have thronged to counters for Sarva Darshan tickets, resulting in stampede. Security personnel of TTD’s vigilance wing have tried their best to regulate the devotees at the counters but their efforts went in vain.
 
Tense situation has prevailed for some time and later situation was brought under control. Devotees rush to Tirumala temple has increased in the recent past with the relaxation of Covid rules. Meanwhile, the TTD is organising the three-day annual Vasantothsavam festival of Srivari temple from April 14 to 16. The fete begins with a procession of utsava idols of Sri Malayappa and His consorts on April 14.
