CS files 190-page affidavit in AP High Court over Amaravati capital verdict

Chief Secretary (CS) Sameer Sharma has filed a 190-page affidavit in the Andhra Pradesh High Court over the judgement of Amaravati as the only state capital. In the verdict, the High Court directed the state government to submit an affidavit after handing over developed plots to farmers of Amaravati region within one month from the date of judgement pronounced. 
 
The CS informed the High Court that the AP government had extended the tenure of the CRDA Act till January 2024 and there is a time to complete the development of plots. According to the affidavit, the YSRCP government has told the High Court that they are facing shortage of funds for developing plots and government’s priority is spending towards welfare schemes.
