SCR GM checks stations for Pushkarams near Vijayawada

South-Central Railway General Manger Ravindra Gupta visited various Railway Stations in and around Vijayawada and reviewed o­ngoing Krishna Pushkaram works on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Ashok Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, and other officials. Commencing his inspection with a visit to Madhuranagar Railway station, the General Manager went around the station premises to have a first-hand look of the o­ngoing civil works and sought details o­n the nature and the schedule of the works. He stressed that all the works should be completed well within the deadline, keeping the fast-approaching Krishna Pushkarams. He checked the platform widening works and advised the Engineering officials to ensure that strengthening of the extended platform length should be ensured to the optimal best. Later, Ravindra Gupta travelled to Gunadala to oversee the ongoing road approach works to the Railway station. He was also briefed by the DRM o­n all the infrastructure developmental works nearing completion at Gunadala. The General Manager then proceeded to Rayanapadu Railway Station, which is also expected to see a significant increase in footfalls during the Krishna Pushkarams and inspected the station. After overseeing the ongoing works, which are nearing completion at a fast pace, he held discussions with the DRM and other officials o­n the expected traffic trends here. Based o­n their feedback, the General Manager advised that additional booking counters be planned during the Krishna Pushkarams on a need-based basis. He also suggested that the Platform lengths at Rayanapadu may suitably be extended to accommodate longer trains. The inspection visit ended at Krishnacanal Junction station, where the General Manager was briefed on all the passenger facilities and amenities expected to be in place for the Krishna Pushkarams.
