Aadhaar card to NRIs soon
Hyderabad, July 19: NRIs also will get Aadhaar cards soon. The Central government has initiated the process to issue Aadhaar cards to Indians living abroad. Aadhaar card will have a 12 digit number through bio-metric system. This card is being used as an identity card and also being linked with other services provided by the government. Till date this card was limited to the people living in India only. Now the government decided to extend this card to NRIs also. Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed about providing this unique card to NRIs, with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It is already known that Modi announced on Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Gujarat in January this year, that they were regarding providing Aadhaar card to NRIs.
