IPL's Second Fastest Century... 14-Year-Old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Creates History

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, playing for Rajasthan Royals, created history by scoring a remarkable century off just 35 balls in a match against Gujarat Titans. This historic innings unfolded at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals elected to bowl first. Gujarat Titans, taking up the batting, set a formidable target by posting 209 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing a challenging target of 210 runs, Rajasthan Royals' innings witnessed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi unleashing an aggressive and dominant display right from the start.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reached his maiden IPL half-century in just 17 balls and continued his blistering form. Notably, he smashed Gujarat Titans bowler Karim Janat for 30 runs in a single over, including three fours and three sixes, rapidly accelerating the score. Continuing his onslaught, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi completed his century in only 35 balls, thus registering the second fastest century in IPL history. However, immediately after reaching the milestone, he was clean bowled by Gujarat Titans bowler Prasidh Krishna. In total, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi faced 38 balls, hitting seven fours and eleven sixes to accumulate 101 runs.

In the same match, Rajasthan Royals' other opener Yashasvi Jaiswal also excelled with a half-century. Through this extraordinary innings, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi not only achieved the fastest century of the IPL 2025 season but also became the youngest player (14 years old) ever to score a century in IPL history.

Rajasthan Royals secured a remarkable victory by defeating Gujarat Titans by eight wickets. They chased down the 210-run target in just 15.5 overs, losing only two wickets. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 101 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal added 70 runs, and captain Riyan Parag contributed an unbeaten 32 runs. Particularly impressive was the opening partnership between Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who together put up 166 runs for the first wicket. Among Gujarat Titans' bowlers, Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan each claimed one wicket.
