HC puts TS tax on AP vehicles on hold for a week for petitioners

Hyderabad, April 1, 2015: The private and tourist bus operators of AP got a relief in the High Court on Wednesday as the apex court of the state has ordered the TS Government not to collect entry tax from AP vehicles for a week from today. Adjourning further hearing on the petitions filed by 70 tourist operators till next Tuesday, the court said the direction would apply to those who have filed the petitions challenging the TS decision to tax them. Those who have filed the petitions should give assurance letters at the check posts and others , who have not approached the court, should pay the entry tax at check posts, the HC has ruled. Following this, some more operators have decided to file petitions in the High Court challenging the TS Government's decision to tax them.
