TS collects more than Rs.1 Cr in 12 hours through entry tax on AP vehicles
Hyderabad, April 1, 2015: Telangana government officials started collecting entry tax on AP vehicles entering into TS since last midnight. Reports said the officials have so far collected Rs.50 lakh at Nagarjuna Sagar check post and Rs.61 lakh at Mahabubnagar check post from private vehicles. However there is thin traffic on Vijayawada-Hyderabad high way and also on Kurnool-Hyderbad high way as 80 per cent of the private buses stopped their services since last night. TS is collecting entry tax at the rate of Rs.2600 per seat for three months from contract carriages (luxury buses ) and Rs.8 lakh from multi-axle buses having 52 seats per year. There are 2,41,835 goods vehicles with short term licences, 17,965 maxi-cabs, 345 contract carriages and 183 all India tourist permit vehicles in AP coming to Hyderabad and other cities in Telangana almost frequently.
