Travel to Hyd from AP cities to become costlier from April 1

Hyderabad, March 31, 2015: From Wednesday, April 1, 2015, Telangana Government will impose tax on vehicles plying from AP into its territory. As per the orders issued by the Transport Commissioner of Telangana, all commercial vehicles including contract carriages (private buses and tourist buses), goods carriages, motor cabs, maxicabs, passenger autos and tractor trailers will be charged road tax. As a result, fares of all commercial goods and private buses carrying passengers from AP towns and cities to Hyderabad and other towns in Telangana are bound to go up substantially. Freight charges of commercial vehicles will also go up resulting in hike of goods' charges. However, it is not yet known the percentage of tax to be collected from the vehicles coming from AP.
