Elon Musk’s Key Suggestion to Trump

08-04-2025 Tue 14:23 | International

Elon Musk, the Chief Executive Officer of Tesla and head of X (formerly Twitter), has reportedly made a significant recommendation to United States President Donald Trump regarding tariffs. According to various English-language media reports, this marks the first time Elon Musk has responded to the tariffs imposed during Donald Trump’s presidency.

Elon Musk is said to have suggested that Donald Trump reconsider the trade war with China, reportedly advising that reducing tariffs would be a beneficial move. This suggestion is understood to have been made during a recent meeting between the two.

Although no official confirmation has been released regarding this meeting or the discussion, reports indicate that Elon Musk directly engaged in talks with Donald Trump, requesting him to reevaluate his stance on tariffs imposed on China. Donald Trump, however, is reported to have firmly rejected the suggestion and clearly stated that there would be no reduction in tariffs.
