The Miss World pageant is set to take place in Hyderabad from May 7 for a duration of 24 days. The opening ceremony will be held at the Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, while the Miss World Finals will be conducted at HITEX on May 31. Contestants from a total of 140 countries are expected to participate in the event.

The overall expenditure for the pageant is estimated to be ₹54 crore, of which the Telangana government departments will contribute ₹27 crore. The remaining ₹27 crore will be covered by the Miss World organization. The government’s share of ₹27 crore is expected to be raised through sponsorships.

Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Miss World Limited CEO Julia Morley disclosed the details to the media. They expressed optimism that hosting the 72nd Miss World pageant in Telangana would boost employment and investment opportunities in the state, as well as enhance its global recognition.

Julia Morley emphasized that the Miss World pageant symbolizes international culture and empowerment beyond beauty alone. Current Miss World 2024 Christina shared her excitement about returning to India, where she won her crown last year. She stated that India holds a special place in her heart, and wearing a saree brings her great joy.

Tourism Department Secretary Smita Sabharwal mentioned that the event would be organized to reflect Telangana’s culture. She also noted that various programs would be conducted at tourist locations across the state during the event.
