Chandrababu Naidu Outlines Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 in Assembly

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that he is proud to have played a role, however small, in the economic reforms introduced by former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, which helped India advance on the path of development. He made these remarks during a short-term discussion in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 document. The Chief Minister outlined ten guiding principles aimed at achieving the state's long-term development goals.

Chandrababu Naidu expressed confidence that by 2047, Indians would emerge as global leaders, marking 100 years of the country's independence. He emphasized that the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 incorporates key aspects such as poverty eradication, technological advancement, and initiatives like P4 (People, Public, Private, Partnership). He stated that detailed planning has been done at the state, district, constituency, municipality, and mandal levels to ensure structured implementation.

The Chief Minister explained that the state government would conduct assessments of the socio-economic conditions of the people and draft progressive vision documents for each constituency. He highlighted the importance of ensuring social security for every family and fostering economic self-reliance to enhance living standards. "Our goal is not just to give fish, but to teach people how to fish," he asserted, stressing that the government’s policies are designed to empower people rather than merely provide aid.

Chandrababu Naidu underscored that providing housing, residential land, and essential infrastructure to every household is a key objective. He emphasized the importance of ensuring safe drinking water, gas connections, and other basic amenities for all citizens.

Discussing energy sector reforms, he predicted that solar, wind, and pumped storage power generation would be game-changers in the coming years. He urged MLAs to take responsibility for attracting industries to their constituencies rather than discouraging investments, indirectly referring to the previous government’s approach. "Our government is actively working on wealth creation," he stated.

Reflecting on the challenges of governance, Chandrababu Naidu remarked that Andhra Pradesh, which had suffered setbacks during the last five years, is now back on track. He called for long-term strategic planning to ensure sustainable growth. Citing historical precedents, he recalled that in 1990, he had introduced the Vision 2020 plan for undivided Andhra Pradesh, which ultimately delivered more benefits than initially anticipated for the then-unified state.

The Chief Minister drew parallels between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "Viksit Bharat-2047" and Andhra Pradesh’s "Swarna Andhra Vision-2047." He revealed that the government is involving MLAs in the drafting of vision documents for their respective constituencies to ensure comprehensive planning. The ultimate goal, he said, is for Andhra Pradesh to become a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, with a per capita income of ₹55 lakh. For the current financial year, he set a growth target of 17.11%.

Chandrababu Naidu also addressed concerns about the Rayalaseema region, countering the perception that it is a barren land. He insisted that Rayalaseema will transform into a land of prosperity, not just rocky terrain. He highlighted that Anantapur district has already risen to the fifth position in economic performance.
