Prime Minister Narendra Modi Is Like an Elder Brother to Chief Ministers: Revanth Reddy
The Telangana Chief Minister asserted that he met Narendra Modi solely for the state's interests. He underscored that while he respects the Prime Minister, their political affiliations remain distinct—he represents the Congress party, whereas Modi is the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Revanth Reddy also mentioned that if needed, he would take Aleti Maheshwar Reddy to Delhi. Additionally, he stated that he had met Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy four times and had also held discussions with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Criticizing the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, Revanth Reddy alleged that Hyderabad was mismanaged during its tenure. He accused the previous administration of neglecting water bodies like lakes and ponds, leading to their disappearance. He further pointed out that the city lacks an adequate drainage system to support its growing apartment complexes. The Chief Minister expressed frustration that while his government is working to restore these water bodies, unnecessary accusations are being made against them. He also asserted that his administration aims to develop Hyderabad into a globally competitive city but is facing opposition in the process.
