Women's Day Gift: CM Chandrababu Announces Major Relief for Government Employees
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced a significant decision regarding maternity leave for women employees in the state. Moving away from the previous restriction, which allowed maternity leave only for up to two children, the state government will now grant paid maternity leave to government employees regardless of the number of children they have.
Making this announcement during an International Women’s Day event in Markapur, Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the need to maintain population balance in the country. He urged the youth to play a crucial role in national development and encouraged families to have more children instead of adopting family planning measures.
Highlighting concerns over declining birth rates in Western countries, Chandrababu Naidu stated that the government aims to promote childbirth and child-rearing. He also pointed out that the restriction barring individuals with more than two children from contesting local body elections had already been removed by the state government. In line with this policy shift, the government has now eased maternity leave regulations for women employees, ensuring they receive paid leave irrespective of the number of children they have.
