SLBC Tunnel Accident: PIL Filed in Telangana High Court
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Telangana High Court regarding the SLBC tunnel accident. The petition, submitted by the National Union for Migrant Workers, urged authorities to safely rescue the eight workers trapped inside the tunnel. The PIL highlighted that even after ten days since the accident, the workers' whereabouts remain unknown.
Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy, representing the Telangana government, presented arguments before the court. He informed the court that rescue operations were being carried out by teams from the Army, the Singareni rescue team, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). He assured the court that rescue efforts were ongoing round the clock and that the government was actively monitoring the situation.
The High Court took note of the details presented by the Advocate General and concluded the hearing on the PIL.
