Mega DSC Recruitment Soon: Minister Nara Lokesh
Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, announced in the Assembly that a mega DSC (District Selection Committee) recruitment will soon be conducted to fill 16,347 vacant teacher posts in the state. Lokesh made this statement in response to a question raised by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) legislators Tatiparthi Chandrasekhar (Santhanuthalapadu), Akeapati Amarnath Reddy (Rajampet), Regam Matsyalingam (Araku), and B. Virupakshi (Alur).
During his address, Lokesh criticized the previous YSRCP government, alleging that it had failed to conduct even a single DSC recruitment in its five-year tenure. He highlighted that in the last 30 years, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) governments had conducted 13 DSC recruitments, appointing 1,80,272 teachers.
Focusing on the post-bifurcation period, Lokesh stated that during the 2014-2019 term under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, the TDP government conducted three DSC recruitments in 2014, 2018, and 2019, resulting in the appointment of 16,701 teachers. He also presented detailed statistical data related to these recruitments.
