CM Chandrababu Vows Closer Engagement with TDP Workers and Leaders
Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, met with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders and workers in GD Nellore, Chittoor district, after attending the "Seva Lo Peda" (Service to the Poor) program. During the meeting, he expressed his confidence in the party's cadre, stating that their presence gave him great strength. He explained that he had been fully engaged in governance over the past eight months, which had prevented him from meeting with party members earlier. Chandrababu Naidu shared his joy at reconnecting with the party workers, whom he described as family.
"After 30 years, we hoisted the TDP flag over GD Nellore. Our workers put their lives on the line for the party's victory. I will fully support you. This constituency should become an impregnable stronghold for the party. We missed our mark slightly in Tamballapalle and Punganur, but across the district, the TDP flag is flying high. Those who once said 'Why not 175?' and 'Why not Kuppam?' have disappeared now. If we had executed our strategy correctly in the last elections, even Pulivendula would have been ours," Chandrababu Naidu stated.
Recalling past challenges, he noted, "Since the party’s inception, we have faced many difficulties in the undivided Chittoor district. This time, with our meticulous planning, we secured 12 seats in the region. No matter how many hardships we face, even if we have to risk our lives, we will never surrender to them. That is how we won 93% of the seats."
Chandrababu Naidu admitted, "In 2004 and 2019, I was responsible for the party’s defeat. I was so focused on developing the state and changing people's lives that I neglected our cadre. From 2004, it took us 10 years to return to power. When we came back in 2014, we faced numerous challenges. Protecting the party in both states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) became a historic necessity. However, under the guise of unity, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) pushed for bifurcation. Despite this, the people wisely chose us."
He highlighted the state's progress during his tenure, stating, "Between 2014 and 2019, we worked tirelessly and achieved a 13.5% growth rate. If we lost the elections, it was not because we failed to serve the people, but because of dissatisfaction among our cadre. Every drop of your blood is yellow (TDP’s color), and nothing else. If I don't communicate with you, dissatisfaction will grow, which is why I organized this meeting."
Chandrababu Naidu acknowledged past mistakes, saying, "After previous elections, we failed to focus on our cadre. This time, there will be no gap between me and our workers. Wherever I travel, I will meet with our party leaders and workers. Social media is also a powerful tool to showcase what our government is doing for the people. Every party member should be active on social media."
The Chief Minister issued a stern warning, stating, "There should be no direct or indirect support to YSRCP leaders. I am making this clear to our leaders—helping them is like feeding milk to a snake. Our cadre must work under leadership, not act independently. MLAs and MPs should not view their positions as one-time opportunities. As long as you are in politics, you must remain public representatives, support the cadre, and be accessible."
Emphasizing his commitment to party workers, Chandrababu Naidu added, "No matter how busy I am, wherever I go, I will ensure I meet with our cadre. In the last elections, I even distanced myself from my close friends. I told them clearly that while I am willing to have tea or meals with them, I will never sacrifice the party for their sake."
