K'taka govt announces CBI probe into IAS officer DK Ravi's death
Bengaluru, March 23, 2015: CBI will now investigate the suspicious death of Karnataka IAS Officer D K Ravi. Chief Minister Siddharamiah has announced this in Karnataka assembly on Monday. The Karnataka Government has decided to hand over investigation of the case to CBI after Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi has spoken to him and suggested that the case be handed over to the Central probing agency as per the demand of the DK Ravi family. Despite the news reports doing the rounds that DK Ravi has committed suicide following the failure of his one-sided love with his course mate who is now a district collector, there was a hue and cry over his death and Government handing over the probe to CID. Several people's organisations have also rallied round the family taking out rallies and demanding CBI probe. Sonia Gandhi has also spoken to the wife of DK Ravi and assured her justice.
