Chandrababu Naidu’s Efforts Yield Results: Center Supports AP Mirchi Farmers

The Central Government has responded positively to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s recent letter regarding the situation of mirchi (chili) farmers in the state. Chandrababu Naidu had earlier addressed the issue in a letter to the Center and discussed it with Union Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

As a result of these efforts, the Central Government has now issued orders setting the price of mirchi at ₹11,781 per quintal under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS). The cost will be shared equally between the Central and State Governments.

Additionally, the Center has approved the procurement of 2.58 lakh metric tonnes of mirchi from Andhra Pradesh. The newly issued orders will be applicable for a period of one month and will cover the mirchi produced during the 2024-25 season.
