Allegations Against Vallabhaneni Vamsi: Government Forms SIT

The Andhra Pradesh government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe allegations against former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. The SIT, led by GVG Ashok Kumar, will consist of four members. The government has officially issued orders for its formation.

According to the government, Vamsi's alleged illegal activities have caused a financial loss of ₹195 crore. He is facing accusations of illegal mining and land encroachments.

Vamsi was previously arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Gannavaram TDP office computer operator Satyavardhan. He is currently in judicial remand at Vijayawada jail.

In a recent development, the Vijayawada SC/ST court has ordered Vamsi to be placed in police custody for three days for further investigation.
