TDP Leaders Visit Proposed Dagadarthi Airport Site in Nellore

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, recently announced that seven new airports would be developed in the state, including the Dagadarthi Airport in Nellore district. In this context, senior leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) inspected the land designated for the project.

Members of Parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and Beeda Mastan Rao, along with Member of the Legislative Assembly Kavya Krishna Reddy, visited the Dagadarthi airport site. They were accompanied by officials from the Airports Authority of India as they surveyed the land.

Speaking on the occasion, Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy stated that efforts were being made to complete the Dagadarthi Airport by 2027. He mentioned that discussions were held regarding the compensation for farmers whose lands are being acquired for the project. The airport is planned to be built over 1,379 acres, with 669 acres already acquired, while 710 acres remain to be procured, he said.

Vemireddy highlighted that the airport would cater to both passenger and cargo transportation needs. He noted that with two ports already in the district, the airport would enhance export and import activities. Additionally, he emphasized that Dagadarthi has the potential to develop into an industrial hub in the future.
