Ration Card Applications Restart in Telangana; Authorities Clarify Eligibility
The ration card application process has resumed in Telangana after a temporary halt. Following discussions with Mee Seva officials, the Civil Supplies Department reinstated the application submission option, bringing an end to three days of uncertainty.
As per the Civil Supplies Department’s directive, the Mee Seva website had activated the ration card application submission option at midnight on February 7. However, by the morning of February 8, the option disappeared from the website, causing confusion among applicants.
In response, the Civil Supplies Department held further discussions on the issuance of ration cards. Since applications were already being accepted through the Praja Vani program and a cabinet decision had previously been made, officials concluded that there were no technical barriers to issuing ration cards. As a result, the application submission process resumed at Mee Seva centers yesterday evening.
Officials also clarified that individuals who have already applied through government programs such as Praja Palana, caste census, or Praja Vani do not need to reapply, as their applications are already under review.
