Tiger Kills Woman in Kerala; Government Orders Its Elimination

The Kerala government has declared a tiger that attacked and killed a woman as a “man-eater” and issued orders for its elimination. The tragic incident occurred near Mananthavady in Wayanad district, where the tiger attacked a 45-year-old woman named Radha while she was working in a coffee plantation. Following the attack, the tiger killed her and consumed parts of her body.

Shortly after this incident, the tiger also attacked a forest department official, Jayasurya, further escalating tensions in the area.

These successive attacks have left the local residents in a state of fear and panic, with many worried about when and where the tiger might strike next. To address the growing concern, Forest Minister A. K. Saseendran convened a meeting with senior officials. Following this meeting, the minister announced that the tiger had been officially declared a “man-eater” and that it would be eliminated to ensure public safety.

Minister Saseendran further noted that this is the first time in the state’s history that a tiger has been officially designated as a “man-eater.”
