Former MP Manda Jagannadham Passes Away; Condolences from Telugu State Chief Ministers

Nagar Kurnool’s former Member of Parliament (MP) Manda Jagannadham passed away today while undergoing treatment at NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. He had been suffering from health issues for some time. Jagannadham was elected MP four times from the Nagar Kurnool Lok Sabha constituency and served as the Telangana government’s special representative in Delhi.

Born on May 22, 1951, Manda Jagannadham entered Parliament in 1996, 1999, 2004, and 2009. He was elected three times on a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ticket before winning on a Congress ticket in 2009. Prior to the last Lok Sabha elections, he joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed grief over Manda Jagannadham’s demise, highlighting his significant role as an MP from Nagar Kurnool and a social activist during the Telangana movement. "His passing is an irreparable loss to Telangana," said Revanth Reddy, while extending condolences to the bereaved family.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also conveyed his condolences, lauding Jagannadham’s political journey. "Rising from a humble background, he pursued higher education and made a mark in politics by winning three times as an MP on a TDP ticket," said Chandrababu Naidu. He offered deep sympathies to the family during this difficult time.
