During the final and decisive fifth Test match between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah unexpectedly left the field during the second session on the second day. The incident occurred after the completion of the 31st over, when Bumrah suddenly walked off due to an apparent injury. Earlier in the day, during the first session, Bumrah had taken a crucial wicket by dismissing Marnus Labuschagne, but midway through the second session, he exited the ground, raising concerns among Indian supporters.

Following his departure, Bumrah was taken to a hospital for medical scans, accompanied by the medical team. Speculation arose regarding the severity of the injury, with many fans fearing a serious issue.

Providing clarity on the matter, Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna shared an update, stating, “Bumrah is suffering from back pain. He has gone to the hospital for a scan, and the medical team is closely monitoring him. We will have more clarity once the scan reports are available.”

Further details emerged from sources, confirming that Jasprit Bumrah was taken to a hospital in the Centennial Park area of Sydney for detailed medical examination. "He is experiencing back discomfort, and the scans are underway. The results are expected by evening. While Bumrah is likely to be available for batting in the second innings, a decision regarding his bowling will only be taken on Sunday, based on his condition," said the sources.
