IndiGo Passenger’s In-Flight Tea Moment Captivates Internet
Hearing the call “Chai Chai” is common during train journeys in India, but when it happens on a flight, it’s bound to turn heads. A passenger on an IndiGo flight recently surprised fellow travelers by serving tea mid-air at an altitude of 36,000 feet. Using a flask he carried onboard, the passenger poured tea into paper cups and distributed it to everyone, turning the otherwise mundane flight into a cheerful experience. The other passengers enjoyed the tea with laughter and camaraderie, and the entire event was captured on video.
The video, shared on social media, quickly went viral, amassing 6.7 lakh views so far. While many netizens appreciated the lighthearted moment as a refreshing change from the strict and often dull nature of air travel, others were critical of the incident. Some pointed out that flights have stringent rules against carrying liquids, including water, onboard and questioned how the passenger managed to bring a flask through security checks.
“Making tea at home and enjoying it mid-flight—what’s wrong with that?” commented one supporter. Another wrote, “This is something only an Indian could think of—being resourceful and sharing joy anywhere, anytime!” On the other hand, critics remarked on potential safety and rule violations, questioning the actions of airport security staff.
