San Francisco (USA): Andhra Pradesh's Minister of Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, emphasized that the state government is working towards decentralization of development and improving the speed of doing business. He noted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently announced six policies aimed at creating 2 million jobs for the youth over the next five years. Minister Lokesh was the chief guest at a roundtable meeting with industrialists organized by Consul General of India in San Francisco, Mr. Srikar Reddy.

During the event, Lokesh mentioned, “Chandrababu Naidu, now serving as Chief Minister for the fourth time, is looking forward to significant investments from you in Andhra Pradesh. The state offers a favorable environment for investments, and the success of Kia is an example of our speed in executing business. Andhra Pradesh, with the second-largest coastline in India, is planning four new ports. The Chief Minister is determined to develop Kurnool district as a Drone Valley, while plans are underway to make the combined Chittoor and Kadapa districts an electronics hub. Already, 25% of cell phones produced in India are made in Andhra Pradesh, along with 50% of the country’s air conditioners. As part of decentralized development, we are also establishing a biofuel ecosystem in Prakasam district.”

Amaravati Capital Works to Begin in December

Minister Lokesh revealed that development projects worth 5 billion USD are set to begin in the Krishna and Guntur capital region, with the construction of Amaravati starting from December. He added, “We are focusing on aqua exports, petrochemicals, and green hydrogen industries in the Godavari districts, and on chemical and pharmaceutical sectors in North Andhra. Visakhapatnam, the state’s economic capital, will soon host a Civil Aviation University and a data center. Additionally, TCS is set to begin its operations in the state. We have revived the EDB (Economic Development Board) under the leadership of Sai Kanth Varma to transform the state into a global manufacturing hub. Andhra Pradesh’s active role at the national political level is benefiting the state. India is on the brink of a data revolution, with industrial estimates predicting $300 billion in electronics investments, and Andhra Pradesh is poised to play a key role in this. In line with Prime Minister Modi’s goal for a developed India by 2047, Andhra Pradesh is moving rapidly towards becoming a developed state. I invite industrialists from the USA to be a part of the state's comprehensive development.”
