Centre considering special status for AP : Venkaiah
Hyderabad, March 1, 2015: Union Urban Development Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu told reporters here today that Centre was considering special state status for Andhra Pradesh. "It is true that Polavaram Project has not been allotted enough funds but the fact is that budget allotments have been made keeping in view the financial status of the country," he said, adding that the Centre is considering special status for AP. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has promised him that the Centre would honour its commitments on AP Reorganisation Act, Venkaiah disclosed and added: "It is preposterous to expect things to happen in 9 months that could not be done in Congress rule of 9 years." Venkaiah said the Centre is not running away from its commitments on building the capital city. Centre will make allotments after the dynamics of the capital city are revealed, he said.
