Chandrababu: 42 per cent funds for states okay, but AP needs more
Kuppam, Feb 25, 2015:Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu , on second day of his Kuppam constituency tour on Wednesday , has hailed the allotment of 42 per cent funds for AP and other states by the 14th Finance Commission . Speaking to media persons at Ramakuppam, he said that the 14th Finance Commission has allotted funds to AP based on the census of 2013. The allotment is 10 per cent higher compared to earlier allotments, he remarked. "It has not allotted any special funds for AP. The Centre should have allotted more funds to ensure that AP is developed equally on par with other states," he said, adding that the state will get the revenue deficit of Rs.22,113 Cr over a period of five years. The adjustment of revenue deficit by the Centre will only go towards payment of salaries and other expenses, he said and added: "We have sought Rs.141, 467 Cr for the state but the request has not been considered."
