Curbs on media come into force at TS Secretariat

Hyderabad, Feb 24, 2015: After journalists raised a hue and cry and held protest demonstrations over the TS Government's decision to ban entry of media personnel into the Secretariat, Telangana Government seems to have relaxed its hard decision a little bit. Instead of banning entry for the media totally into the secretariat, the Government decided not to allow the presence of media personnel at the C Block where the CMO is located. This means media men can enter into the Secretariat but can't move around the C Block housing the Chief Minister KCR's office. The Government started implementing the decision from Monday when the huge posse of media personnel present at the C Block were driven away by the security people. After the journalists' protest earlier, KCR held a meeting with the Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana and journalists' unions on Sunday. After the discussions with KCR, Narayana has hinted that there may not be total ban on media persons' entry into the Secretariat and the ban may be limited to the CM's office. Though the Government has not issued any official orders on imposing curbs on media personnel, officials began implementing the oral orders given by KCR.
