KCR plans fall flat as most identified lands are in dispute

Hyderabad, Feb 23, 2015: With the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) making it clear to the Telangana Government that only 9.2 acres out of the 49 acres identified by the revenue officials in and around Hyderabad can be auctioned for raising funds, Chief Minister KCR has now instructed the District Collector to identify some more undisputed government lands. Hyderabad District Collector has identified 49 acres of government land in and around Hyderabad and submitted the details to KCR. However, after a through scrutiny, CCLA has told the Government that only 9.2 acres are free of legal disputes and can be sold while the rest 40 acres are in dispute and can't be auctioned. The Government originally wanted to raise Rs.6000 Cr by auctioning all these lands but now it will only get Rs.225 Cr by auctioning the 9.2 acres. Notification will be issued in a few days for sale of these lands. With Government committed to find more undisputed lands, the revenue officials are on the run to identify more such lands.
