AP to celebrate official Ram Navami festival at Ontimitta

Hyderabad, Feb 20, 2015:With Bhadrachalam temple becoming part of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to conduct official Srirama Navami festival at the age old Lord Rama temple at Ontimitta in Kadapa district. On the instructions of the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Endowments department principle secretary J.S.V. Prasad has visited the temple premises today and said the Rama Navami festival will be celebrated at the temple on a grand scale. Briefing reporters about the decision, endowments minister Manikyala Rao said there are historical facts to say that the Ontimitta temple was built in 11th century. Hence, the Government has chosen the temple for the purpose. He discounted the rumours that leaders who visit the Godavari Pushkarams will lose their political and Governmental posts. "We will invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pushkarams this time ," he said.
