Cong plans to freeze Parl over special status to AP
New Delhi, Feb 19, 2015: APCC is gearing up to agitate in Parliament over the issue of special status for Andhra Pradesh. By bringing the activity in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to a standstill, Congress wants to build pressure on the BJP Government to announce special status to the state. APCC President Raghuveera Reddy has already discussed the issue with party chief Sonia Gandhi and is slated to meet former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on the strategy to be adopted in Parliament budget session beginning Feb 23. Meanwhile, CPI leader Narayana has demanded Chandrababu to go to Delhi and fight for ensuring special status to the state. "Chandrababu should not keep quiet over the issue. He should fight it over to get what is due for the state," Narayana told reporters.
