Mother not allowed to feed 20-day old baby at work place, infant dies
Sangareddy, Feb 16, 2015: In an inhuman act that reminds one of a cinema scene depicting cruelty towards the daily wage earners, a labour contractor did not allow his daily labourer to leave the work place to feed her 20-day old crying baby resulting in the instant death of the infant. The incident , which occurred ten days ago at Turkalakhanapur village in Medak district, came to light only today. Reports said on Feb 7, some migrant laborers from Nawabpet Mandal of Mahabubnagar district , were engaged in work at an industry at Turkalakhanapur village. Malleswari, one of the labourers, left behnd her baby boy in a thatched hut and was busy with her work along with others. On hearing the continuous cries of the 20-day old baby, she requested the contractor to allow her to feed the baby with milk but the contractor bluntly refused her request. After continuously crying for some time, Malleswari found that the crying stopped all of a sudden. When an anxious Malleswari rushed to the hut, she found the baby dead to her utter shock. Malleswari and others rushed the baby to a nearby hospital but the doctors declared it brought dead. Later, the fear-gripped contractor forced Malleswari and other workers to take the dead baby to the outskirts of Narsapur and bury it there.
