AP Bifurcation Act to be amended: Venkaiah

Hyderabad, Feb 16, 2015: Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu disclosed that an amendment would be brought to the AP Reorganisation Act in the forthcoming budget session to remove the hiccups in the implementation of the provisions of the Act. He told a news conference here that the proposals of the amendment will be formulated after consulting both the state governments and arriving at consensus on the issue. Both the states had sought changes in the Reorganisation Act that will result in the elimination of certain problems, he said adding TS Government has requested changes for re-merger of some villages of Bhadrachalam revenue division with it from AP. "We will discuss with both the states and try to arrive at consensus on the amendments to be brought in. Only after that, the amendments will be carried out," he said.
